Green Technology WINNER - EMC

Novartis Ringaskiddy: Novartis is a world leader in research and development of products to protect and improve health and well-being. Novartis Ringaskiddy Ltd. is one of 4 key manufacturing facilities within Chemical Operations and is responsible for the worldwide supply of pharmaceutical drug substances for Novartis Pharma. We produce a variety of drug substances used for the production of medicines in many therapeutic areas such as Oncology, Transplantation, Cardiovascular, Dermatology and Bone-Disease. We currently employ over 430 staff.
Avego: Avego is a provider of software, hardware and professional services for improving passenger transport efficiency. Using GPS, web and mobile technologies, Avego’s real-time information and management systems make seat capacity known and available to passengers, provide convenient ticket purchasing options, and enable extensive reporting capabilities. Led by a multinational team of transport experts, Avego has offices in Ireland (Kinsale and Dublin), the United States (Washington, DC, and Silicon Valley, CA) and China (Dalian). In the past year, Avego has released two products that aim to promote sustainable urban mobility by reducing the number of single-occupant vehicles on our roads. Avego Shared Transport uses iPhone GPS technology to enable private cars to become part of the public transport network by providing a marketplace for drivers to offer their vacant seats to others in real time. It has been prominently featured in major publications such as the New York Times and the San Jose Mercury News and has been used by thousands of individuals around the world. Avego's Futurefleet software is a real-time management system for improving passenger transport efficiency.
