Midsummer Event at the Murphy Brewery

Oliver Coughlan, Director of Business Operations for Big Fish Games (recently announced 100 jobs in Cork) will speak to members at this event.

This is a relaxed and informal networking event.  Food and drinks from 6 - 8pm compliments of Heineken Ireland.

About the speaker

Oliver Coughlan is the Vice President of European Operations for Big Fish Games. 

Big Fish Games have their Headquarters in Seattle, Washington, USA, and have recently located their European Headquarters to Cork, Ireland.  They are the world leading online game and interactive entertainment destination and will be employing over 100 people in the areas of multi-lingual customer support, localisation, translation and game testing.

Oliver is also a non-Executive Director with Telefonica O2 Ireland where previously he held the position of Chief Technology Officer.  While in O2 he had responsibility for all aspects of the radio network and IT systems and was a member of the Board of Directors.  He worked for O2 Ireland for over 12 years where he managed a department of over 500 people with responsibility for an annual budget of a quarter of a billion euro.  Previous to this position, Oliver was Technical Director where his responsibilities lay with radio network, management development and maintenance. 

Oliver is a Director and on the Board of Equiendo, a software development company who are part funded by Enterprise Ireland.

Having spent a number of years lecturing with FÁS (National Training Authority) and the Institute of Technology in Cork, Oliver emigrated to the UK where he managed the implementation of the Justice Fennel Report for safety systems on the London Underground network.
