Description: This course provides an excellent and in-depth insight into the latest innovations in online marketing.  Attendees must bring their own laptops.

It covers techniques for your own website such as copy writing, search engine optimisation, blogging and link building and offsite activities such as search marketing (Google Adwords), usage of discussion forums, engaging with bloggers and the current technique for running campaigns on social networks such as Bebo and Facebook.

Audience: This course is suitable for all levels of Staff with a basic understanding of the World Wide Web.

It is a non-technical course and is suitable for non-IT staff whose effectiveness would be enhanced by a greater awareness of the current state of the World Wide Web and techniques designed to attract more website visitors and convert them into customers.

It is especially beneficial for those individuals who have responsibility for PR, Marketing and customer interaction in an organisation.

Duration: One Day, facilitated by Damien Mulley, Mulley Communications

Morning Objectives:

Attendance on this course will enable participants to:

  • Understand the current trends on the World Wide Web.
  • Understand the current principles of search engines, search marketing and website optimisation.
  • Understand why ranking in the top ten of Google for certain search phrases can generate hundreds to thousands of daily website visitors.
  • Understand that listening and soliciting for feedback is now the best way to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Design ad campaigns to attract more visitors and potential customers to your website(s).
  • Create an overall Internet Marketing campaign that ties in onsite marketing, offsite marketing, search ads, banner ads and social network advertising.

Afternoon Objectives:

Attendance on this course in the afternoon will enable participants to:

  • Understand the current trends on the World Wide Web.
  • Understand the principles of "The Cluetrain Manifesto" and "Conversations are Markets"
  • Understand that listening and soliciting for feedback is now the best way to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • How to find webpages, websites, blogs and discussion forums that are discussing your business, product and business area.
  • How to interact with those talking about your or your business area.
  • Design social network campaigns to attract more visitors and potential customers to your website(s).
