CIT Student Takes Part in Research Project on Virtual Project Teams

An intriguing research project about Virtual Teams is starting currently—online, of course. The goal is to find out how effective teams can work together in virtual worlds and how helpful meetings in virtual worlds can be.
The project of Ralf Friedrich employs the virtual world SecondLife® and other web-meetings.

Ralf Friedrich works as a trainer and coach in project management and is lecturer at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.Together with students, he created a virtual working environment. Teams will be grouped together, be guided into the functionalities and receive a task. The team members will have to work together on the task. This control group experiment is rather fascinating.

Volunteers who would like to find out more about working in virtual teams are still welcome and can check in under www.gepros.com/vtr The research project covers 12 weeks and the timely effort for volunteers will be 5 hours weekly. Participants who are PMI® - certified project managers (PMP®'s) will receive 60 PDU's for the participation and meet the requirements for a PMP®-recertification cycle.
