We are delighted to announce that our next Tech Talk webinar will be on: “Cyber Security  – What are we doing?”

Please join us on 4th November for this the first of our two talks on Cyber Security. 

Our panel will discuss the elevated threat levels that business currently faces, we will hear from cyber security experts on the strategies and counter measures employed to protect data and IP and hear advice on the best way to respond to an attack. You will hear from senior cyber security experts, an insurance representative and a member of An Garda Siochana Cyber Crime Unit. This topic will be continued with a deep dive cyber technology talk next month.

This first webinar will be on Thursday 4th November from 8am to 9am and it open to all it@cork members and non-members. The event is free but you must register.

Overview of panellists

Brian O’ Mara

Brian specialises in Financial Lines insurances. He returned to Ireland from Australia in 2015 to co-ordinate O’Leary Insurances approach to Cyber Insurance. His role includes educating companies and keeping abreast of claim and product developments.

Brian regularly contributes to various seminars, blogs, lectures and podcasts on the topic of Cyber Security, and he issues a complimentary quarterly cyber-security oriented newsletter to over 3,000 individuals across Ireland. His proudest achievement is just 60 people unsubscribing in 6 years! He is also the only insurance broker member of Cyber Ireland.

 

Martha Francis

Inspector Martha Francis has over 30 years’ service with An Garda Síochána, over 20 years of which has been spent in Detective Roles involved in the investigation of serious crime & matters relating to state security, including crimes against women and children, sexual crime, economic crime and most recently cyber related criminal activity. She has also been involved in the provision and oversight of digital forensics within An Garda Síochána over many years.

 

Ross Spelman

Ross is Director of Cyber Security with EY.  He is a Strategic Information Technology and Cyber Security Leader with extensive experience in people, process and technology driven problem-solving across a variety of sectors. Significant management and project experience consulting across a wide range of professional functions at all levels from senior management to executive level. Ross has expertise in the areas of Cyber Security, Data Governance, Cloud Security and Managed Security Services.

 

Richard Parker

Richard is Director of Dell Cyber Security and responsible for engineering and deploying security solutions to protect Dell.

 

Andrew Potter

Andrew is Senior Manager of Dell Cyber Security and responsible for Data Analytics of security events in Dell.
