Diversity in Tech Webinar – Bring your best to work – panel discussion with Leaders

it@cork are delighted to launch our first ever Diversity in Tech webinar which will take place on Thursday 21st May from 1-2pm. This online event will be an exciting and informative panel discussion with leaders from the Tech Sector in Cork focusing on the topic: bring your best to work and we will still have an interactive Q&A session hosted through Zoom webinars.

 Event Overview:

During the current pandemic we are all faced with daily challenges both personally and professionally. As people adapt to the new normal and are working from home, it is still vital that we bring our best self to work, even if it is virtually! This event will host a panel of leaders from the Tech Sector that will give advice on a number of work-related topics which will help encourage self-development and confidence at work. Below are some of the key areas that the panellists will be discussing:

  • How to bring your best self to work
  • How to develop a personal brand
  • Understanding your value and developing your key skillset
  • Working in diverse teams (culturally diverse/cross functionally diverse etc)
  • Building sustainable & positive relationships at work

Profile of panellists

Ciaran Ryan

Ciaran leads a software development team and product management team who build solutions to help IBM customers to manage their IT and Network operations. He also has responsibilities as the site manager for IBM in Cork. Previous roles included working for Ericsson, Vodafone and Comnitel which became Vallent Technologies.

Margaret Dineen

Margaret is a co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of 3WestStreet, an Irish outcome-based software delivery consultancy and founder of Encompass Testing, an Australian-based testing consultancy that provided high-performance test teams to clients such as Verizon Business, Commonwealth Bank and Red Hat. Margaret has 30 years’ experience in managing development, test and operations teams across Australia and Europe. Margaret has spoken at a number of national and international conferences, AsiaSTAR, Let’s Test Oz, Agile Tour, Agile Lean Ireland, RebelCon, Oredev Sweden and Odyssey USA. Her articles have been published in Agile Connections (USA) and Testing Trapeze (NZ). She co-hosts a monthly podcast with Anne Marie Charrett called Quality Coaching Roadshow

Marguerite Coleman 

Marguerite a 15-year veteran of Dell Technologies with over 20 years program management experience in multinational companies. She has worked on global software and infrastructure deployments. Marguerite was a lead IT program manager for day 1 integration of Dell and EMC. Marguerite has also fulfilled customer-facing roles while managing customer validation projects with the Cork Solutions Center. In her current role, Marguerite supports Bob Savage site lead with responsibility for Cork, Cairo and India. Leading programs to drive the Dell Tech strategy cross-functionally across all 16 business units in Cork; promotes the company brand internally and externally and is leading key programs to drive innovation and collaboration between Dell Technologies sites and SAB’s.
