Digital Transformation – what does it mean for you?

it@cork in association with it@cork Skillnet are delighted to announce that Mark O’Loughlin will be our Keynote speaker at our next Tech Talk event on 27th November discussing the topic of: Digital Transformation – what does it mean for you?

The event will be in Republic of Work, networking opportunities will start at 7:30 and the Tech Talk will kick off at 8am.

This Tech Talk event will be in a different format as Mark will solely discuss the importance of Digital Transformation and the event promises to be highly engaging.  We are encouraging all our members to think of questions and challenges for digital transformation in your business in 2020.  You can submit questions in advance of the event for Mark and on the day by joining  with this code: #DigitalTransformation.

Organisations are continuing to move and more of their IT services into the cloud and various digital services, shifting various elements of their backend IT infrastructure, systems, applications and IT services. In simplistic terms, cloud and digital services are just another form of outsourcing with a shift in the current IT supply chain model.

With this continued increase in outsourcing to the cloud and digital services, what does this mean to IT professionals, and what must they do differently to survive and thrive in today’s ever-changing workplace.

Join us for an informative session where these questions will be addressed. Mark will explore the disruptive nature of digital services and outline what this means for those involved in running IT services today.

Mark will also provide three critical findings and insights from the 2019 Digital Skills Survey from the Cloud Credential Council (CCC). In addition, at the end of the session, delegates will be shown how to access a free, simple and effective readiness assessment from the CCC in conjunction with the Innovation Value Institute (IVI).

In this session Mark will cover many areas including:

  • The importance of business transformation & change
  • The Impact of new technology and transformation on business models
  • Why companies need to ‘Think, Act and Do differently’
  • The importance of reskilling, retraining and upskilling
  • How the working world has changed; on average the IT cycle is now changing every 10 -15 years and what effect does this have on employees and IT professionals
  • Why both individual/organisation change is required in terms of Digital Transformation
  • Commentary on Brexit in relation to digital services
