  • TechBrew Cork – 10th December – Featuring 3 it@cork Leaders Awards Winners

We are delighted to announce that the next TechBrew Cork event will be held on Tuesday 10th December in the NSC Campus in Mahon and it’s definitely an event that is not to be missed. The panel will include 3 winners from the 2019 it@cork Leaders Awards;

John is CEO and co-founder of Workvivo, a Cork-based technology company providing an internal communications platform designed to increase employee engagement. John was previously CEO of CoreHR, a global leader in the HR tech space and Senior Director of Global Support in EMC (now Dell EMC). John and his co-founder Joe Lennon, founded Workvivo in 2017 to address the increasing problem of employee disengagement globally. Workvivo clients around the world see increases in staff retention, productivity, culture amplification and customer experience through their employees’ use of the platform. John holds an MBA and a Masters in Engineering Science in Nuclear Fusion Research at UCC. Workvivo has recently received a major investment from leading US Tech Entrepreneur Eric S. Yuan founder of Zoom.

Alan Holland founded Keelvar in 2012 after leaving UCC where he worked in the Computer Science Department and was a lecturer in AI and Game Theory. Keelvar provides a SaaS solution to buyers at large enterprises to run competitive bidding processes in global sourcing projects. Keelvar’s particular strength is that it can handle larger and more complex sourcing projects than any other solution which is particularly attractive to the largest enterprises. More recently, Keelvar has developed Intelligent Automation so that Sourcing Bots can operate negotiations automatically on behalf of buying organisations. Keelvar works with customers such as BMW, Daimler, Coca-Cola, Siemens, Primark, Schneider Electric, Adidas and Associated British Foods.

Fin Murray is an executive director of Integumen Plc and Managing Director of Labskin. He is the Founder of Rinocloud Limited and is a seasoned sales executive with more than 30 years of experience in worldwide distribution deals. Founded by Irish scientists in University of Cambridge, UK, in 2017 and acquired by Integumen PLC in May 2019, Rinocloud Ltd is a Cork-based company that practically applies AI to solve real-world problems. Initially set up to provide science data management for labs and research teams, the company, almost by default, started looking at ways to unearth more insights and value from that data on behalf of clients. Today, the practical application of AI across the Integumen skin microbiology business has turned a one-off €2,000 ‘product (skin as a consumable)’ sale into a €50,000 recurring revenue ‘service’ that’s being used by some of the largest cosmetics/pharmaceutical companies in the world. This disruptive technology is driving the Rinocloud business that has seen revenues grow 1,000 fold in a year and seen staff numbers in Ireland increase by 300%.

The theme of the event is ‘’Thinking Big in Tech from Cork’’ and will particularly appeal to Leaders, Investors and Advisors in Tech Companies, Founders, Mentors, Programme Leaders or anyone else that is supporting the growth of the Technology Sector.

At the event, you will hear about each of the speakers business and personal journeys including the big opportunities and ongoing challenges that each of the companies face. Other areas that will be discussed at the event include:

  • How do tech companies get started and grow?
  • How do they select or discover their ideas?
  • How do they determine it is a big enough problem to solve?
  • As a start-up or small company, how do you grow quickly?
  • How do you win those big deals as the early stages to validate your business and set your growth path?

Attendance is FREE for members and non-members but booking is essential. Please note capacity is limited & priority will be given to technology companies and it@cork members.

TechBrew Cork is an informal gathering of software company management and technology leaders, getting together to chat over a shared beverage of choice.

TechBrew Cork is kindly sponsored by NSC Campus and moderated by Donagh Kiernan, CEO Tenego Partnering
