“The only norm in Project Management for tech companies is that there is no norm”
it@cork in association with it@cork Skillnet is delighted to kick off its Autumn schedule of breakfast tech talks with an exciting topic that is sure to appeal to many in the tech community.
The only norm in Project Management now, for tech companies immersed in a world of ever changing and evolving product and service delivery requirements is that there is no norm.
This tech talk will discuss the current state of project management in the tech industry and challenge traditional thinking around project management methodologies.
Moreover, this tech talk will investigate the ‘mashing’ of conventional project management methodologies and practices (PMI, Prince 2 etc.) with software development methodologies (scrum, agile, waterfall etc).
This event will include a panel of speakers from Aspira (Pat Lucey) Poppulo (Kevin Duggan) and Teamwork (Shona Kelleher) engaging in conversation on a number of project management and software development topics including:
- How relevant are methodologies to software dev and project management in the current technology environment?
- The biggest failure in project management/software development
- Are we producing agile developers and teams anymore?
- Sharing best practice on setting up and running Project Management effectively in your organisation
- Advice for start-ups/sme’s on implementing effective project management/software development practices
The event will be highly engaging and interactive, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and share views throughout the session. It will run 8-9 am, with a tea & coffee provided to facilitate networking before the panel discussion and Q&A session.
This event like all it@cork Breakfast TechTalk events are free to all it@cork members but you must register to attend.
